Work on you, for you.

Becoming a parent is a complete lifestyle change; you’re no longer only concerned with your wants and needs, you now have children who need you. You’re no longer yourself; you’re, “Xaiver, Olivier, Stella and Zora’s mom,” which is great because you love your children, but…

What about you individually?
Who are you?
What do you want out of life?

I know as a parent it can be extremely difficult to be selfish, but sometimes you just have to be. The wellbeing of your partner and children is very much so dependent on your welfare, so it’s integral that you take care of yourself first.

So, my goal for this blog is to provide you an escape, an outlet, a guide, or whatever you want to call it, to help you to be the best version of yourself. Because self-care and self-discovery are lifelong journeys, know that I’m also on my path, and it’s parallel to yours.

My name is Aubrey McQueen.

I’m a 28-year old blogger and graphic designer living in Northern Kentucky with my husband and children.

After spending 5 years in the Air Force, my family and I left the east coast and planted new roots about 20 minutes outside of Cincinnati. Y’all… culture shock isn’t even the right phrase to describe this experience. There are horses practically in our backyard!

I graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies, but most of my design abilities are self-taught.

Toward the end of 2019, I left my job as a graphic designer at a local print studio and took on a new role – the stay-at-home mom a.k.a. the homemaker a.k.a. the little peoples’ snack b*tch. Which brings me to the inspiration for this blog.

This blog is an escape for parents who’ve lost a sense of who they are, and are ready to put themselves first again. Happy parents make happy children, but you can’t be happy without self-care!

Let’s get on this journey together!
